Heya! Welcome to Canton Mama, my humble blog about a Hong Kong born and bred mama trying to preserve and influence our two sons the Cantonese root and culture while living in Canada. Here I will share brutal reality and randoms in the journey of parenting, which I do not intend to make it into any sort of guidebook, but just another regular mom vocalising her momhood. 

Having been here for 5 years, I'm struggling to get my boys to SPEAK in Cantonese. They understand the language perfectly (we intentionally speak mostly in Cantonese with them), 佢哋就係唔肯講 😭 Like many families, we tried getting the boys to Cantonese Chinese class too, and, eventually it inspires me to create from scratch a new set of system, in encouraging our boys in trying to speak more Cantonese. This blog, hence, is created to share resources and ideas.
